If you’re a proper bike geek then heading to the Cycle Show should definitely be on your to-do list this summer. It’s a bit like when you go for a pootle around our local bike shop but with a hundred times more bikes to peer at and prod.
The Cycle Show is easily one of the biggest bike trade shows in the UK (there were 29,000 cyclists there last year) and it’s very consumer focussed with loads to look at and do. Exhibitors include Orange, Canyon, GT, Cannondale, Cube, Upgrade (Pivot, DMR), Hope, Windwave (Transition), Whyte, Calibre, Nukeproof and loads more. They’ll be exhibiting all their latest steeds plus a load of stuff from Eurobike that we don’t even know exists yet!
There’s a big focus on being able to test bikes at the CycleShow with a purpose built woodland track to razz around on – it’s not the most technical thing in the world but you can ride loads of bikes in one day which is great fun. There’s also an Islabikes kids test track, a new Ridgeback track for kids and an e-MTB specific track provided by Bosch plus the Shimano STEPs eBike track
The event runs from 21-24 September, but the 21st is for trade only so you’ll probably only want to head down Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Tickets are £17.50 on the door (£13.50 for kids) but if you use the code DRTPC then you’ll get a 10 per cent discount booking tickets (down to £12.55).
