Canberra WC exclusive spy shots

The penultimate WC takes place this weekend at Canberra, Australia.

John and Rob Parkin will be there filming for Dirt TV, so stay tuned for their updates.

We should also have some 5-a-day photos too.

Natalia Bellova who is travelling with Filip Polc sent me some words and pictures from Stromlo.

“On Downhill track there are still some works going on and there will be schools event here on Monday and Tuesday. So the kids will test the track right before the UCI walks it down.

The soil is pretty hard on the track at the moment, much of an improvement since the national champs that took place here at the beginning of the last year. Although it’s expected that in a few days there will be a layer of dust covering the track again.

The rock garden in the top section of the track is longer as it was. And there are some nice and sharp rocks, too… A 20 meter long tunnel with a tartan surface separates the top half of the track leading riders to a series of jumps. We’ll have to see if the wind will make it possible to clear all the jumps along the track. The finish straight is like 25 seconds long and ends with a jump which has been changed today because it was just too idealistic that someone would clear the jump after the flat 30 seconds straight. The speed necessary for that jump was like 50km/h and with the front wind blowing … hopefully the new version of it’s gonna be ideal for the weather and speed conditions. But for me the most amazing thing about this track are the kangaroos jumping around in groups and colourful parrot birds flying and nesting along the tracks.”
