In recent months we’ve ridden a lot of the Mavic Crossmax XL Pro WTS 27.5/29″ wheels, especially on the Specialized Enduro and Mojo/Nicolai Geometron. As a premium product, Mavic are often at the top of many upgrade lists when it comes to wheel choice. Mavic have been in the wheel and rim game for an eternity and there are countless generations of their wheels still out there on the trails. The wheels look great and this; along with Mavic’s pedigree only add to their desirability.

Mavic launched the Crossmax XL a few seasons back and replaces the Enduro wheelset, a favourite of ours in 2014. Mavic now market these as wheel and tyre system (WTS) and although we don’t always get on with the tyres here in the UK the new Crossmax XL is an awesome wheelset.
Sitting below the DH rated DeeMax wheels, the Crossmax XL covers all bases from hard trail bike use through to EWS enduro racing. All Mavic’s knowledge from their previous ST, SX and Enduro Crossmax range has been distilled into this XL model.
