Imprint Grips – How the unique custom mouldable grips work

Imprint Grips

You may remember that at the start of the year we featured some unique custom mouldable grips that a company called TMR Designs was launching on Kickstarter. Well now, eight months later, and after a very successful Kickstarter campaign, these grips are now in production and ready to buy. We had some turn up in the post today and we couldn’t wait to see how they worked. The grip on the right in the photo above is how they come out of the box, and then with a bit of magic boiling water action you can then mould them to the shape of your hand. To see exactly how it all works take a look at the video we made below…

Pretty clever hey! We particularly like the fact that you can remould them as many times as you like as that means when they start to wear out you can just mould them again to get a fresh set of grips. I suppose you could also mess around trying to make your own custom pattern, or even stick your name in them somehow if you want the full ‘pro’ look. Anyway, all that aside first impressions are that they feel pretty good, there’s a noticeable lack of any pressure points, so maybe they will help with arm pump as is claimed. Our only slight concern with them is that they fit your hands so well that any movement of your hands on the grips might cause issues. It’s difficult to know how much you move your hands when riding, so only time spent on these is really going to provide the answer to that one.

If you are interested in trying some out for yourself then they can be ordered direct from the website at the bottom of this post, and apart from a whole lot of different colours to choose from you also get the choice of ‘standard’ or ‘premium’. The former has a plastic internal sleeve, whilst the latter has an aluminium one and comes complete with titanium bolts. The choice is yours…

Price: Standard £24.99, Premium £39.95
