A lot of things were going on today with loads of riders having problems in their qualification run and so did Aaron Gwin. But despite some problems with his chain he still managed to get the fastest time of the day 0.6 seconds ahead.
Rachel Atherton edged out Emmeline Ragot by two seconds today. So it looks like we will see another exciting battle between those two this weekend.
Light and shadow. Not only the rough ground and the fast layout of the track makes it challenging for the riders. From the bright open ski slopes to the dark wood sections - the ever changing light conditions on the track makes it harder to see and hit your lines the way you want.
Brendan Fairclough had a fast run going on and was in 6th at the second split. But he he washed out on the dusty landing of a booter and hit the deck.
Even though Damien Spagnolo is no stranger to the World Cup podium, he sometimes is still riding a bit under the radar. The 3rd fastest time today is just a little reminder that he is up there.
George Brannigan had a spectacular blow out in his last practice run but as it seems that didn´t affect him much, coming 7th later in qualifying while team mate Steve Smith almost knocked Aaron Gwin´s leading time of the top ending up in second.
Loic Bruni missed the Mont Sainte Anne round with his exams, but he is back riding strong in Windham finishing 10th in qualifying.
Brook MacDonald going for the 6th fastest time today.
Danny Hart had the fastest split at the top but crashed coming out of the last wood section. Getting 47th and a couple of stitches on his arm but will be on it on Sunday.
Steve Peat has always been fast here in Windham where you have to carry speed trough all the flat rough sections like this rock garden.
