Sitting in second place after run 1, Rogatkin showed his cars early with a Twister 1080 on the second jump. He followed it up with a triple tail and then finished the show with the never-before-seen cashroll variation.

Rogatkin takes slopestyle to another level

This saw him leapfrog Rheeder, with the Canadian still to run. Rheeder also upped his game, throwing down his usual dizzying mix of technical, opposite whips and spins, but the judges didn’t deem it enough to top Rogatkin’s blockbuster run.

Third place went to Thomas Lemoine – his first ever Diamond event podium.

That makes it 2-1 versus Brett Rheeder in the Crankworx series so far with one round to go… of course there’s the small matter of a Mr Semenuk standing in the way
