2014 Windham World Cup | Practice Gallery

Fast, loose in places, then faster again

The 2014 Windham World Cup is setting up to be a big race this season, the series points in the Men’s race especially is wide open. Brosnan still leads but after a big crash in practice he is coming into racing a little sore.

Ratboy Bryceland is on a charge, after winning in Leogang and placing second in Mont Sainte Anne he will be looking to take his pace to this short track in Greene County. The UK riders are all up there with only the ladies losing out to Ragot in timed training. Manon and Rachel are still battling but they sandwich Emmeline who has the skills to do well in Windham. Myriam Nicole is not to be discounted but coming into this round with a hand injury she is going to have to grit her teeth on Saturday.

Danny Hart put in the second fastest time in Timed Training just 0.694s off Gee Atherton and a second ahead of team mate Andrew Neethling, Danny will no doubt be feeling good about his chances in Windham. Loic Bruni and Connor Fearon were both on fliers down the practice runs, they rounded out the top five with all the riders in that top 5 only separated by 2 seconds!

Laurence was out on the hill to catch all the action and talk to some of the riders about the track. Steve Peat talks about the Syndicate Team and how it’s been to ride with Ratboy for so long, eventually seeing him on top two races ago.

Everyone seems to be liking the track but the track isn’t going to be split by much, there are 10 riders (3rd place and 14th)  on the same second and as Peaty put it “it’s going to be split by a gnat’s cock at the weekend”
