The Dirt Christmas gift guide for mountain bikers
Find the best presents for the mountain biker in your life
The trails are frozen, the tree is decorated and we've planned the office piss up, this can only mean Christmas is not far away.
If you have a mountain biker in your life then look no further. We've assembled a Christmas gift guide to ensure they'll be happy when ripping open their presents from under the tree and then even happier ripping on the trails for the rest of the year.
From stocking fillers to luxury purchases. We've got everything they need here. And, if they order now, it'll still probably get here in time for Christmas Day.
Less than £20
Mountain bikers love things to meddle with. This is why Christmas stocking fillers are always welcome. A new little toy will keep them amused for hours so you can pick whichever Christmas films you like.
Top of the list should be a Dirt 20 Years book. There are very few of these left so if you want a piece of British mtb history, this is the place to go. Find out all the info here.
Beyond that, some tools, maintenance kit or clothing will go down a treat. Here are our selections:
£20 - £100
Mountain biking may seem like an expensive sport but you can find some pretty significant upgrades for less than £100 if you know where to look.
You could get some technical clothing to make sure the ride is more comfortable, or upgrade essentials like grips, pedals, or saddles. In the winter nothing will benefit a mountain biker more than a good pair of tyres though. The Maxxis Shorty, pictured here, is a really versatile option.
£100 - £1,000
Ok, time to get into the big money. If you're buying for a mountain biker this Christmas you should know that not all pieces of mountain bike kit are compatible with each other. We know it's nice to surprise someone on Christmas Day, but in this case it may be worth asking them if it's right before you buy.
You could get a bike for this price, but our experience would suggest you get more for your money going second hand.
If money is no object this Christmas then you're about to make a mountain biker very happy. If you're lucky enough to have a budget of over a grand then you really can let your imagination run wild.
Below is some of the Gucciest kit that would please any mountain biker on Christmas morning.
