We love it when we discover something a little different that also works a treat, and these cranks are a perfect example. The most unique thing about them is the polygon interface that sits at one end of the huge 30mm axle, and it has proven to be one of the most foolproof and reliable systems that we’ve ever used.

That’s not all that has impressed us about these cranks though, as it’s not often that you find a set of such strong and stiff cranks that weigh in at just 870g (including the bottom bracket), and for 2012 they’re set to get even lighter. The bottom bracket is also worthy of a particular mention because it is so smooth that it makes everything else feel like they’re filled with treacle.

Don’t let that make you think that they don’t last though because they do. The icing on the cake is that each set of cranks comes with a full set of installation tools. Why can’t more companies do that?
