We love it when companies keep things simple, and that’s exactly what Straitline have done with this chain device. We thought Gamut had made the simplest device possible, but these guys have surely taken it to the limit by removing every single moving part. Maybe it was a seized idler wheel that made them realise that nothing actually has to move, but whatever the case, this design works incredibly and there is essentially nothing to go wrong with it. You might think that your chain sliding over the guide would create noise and friction, but the reality is that this is one of the quietest and smoothest chain devices we’ve ever used. A great piece of almost backwards engineering.
