Five MTB edits we rate. Particular highlights include Bas’s steezy ‘enduro’ riding, epic NZ scenic riding and Lorenzo’s bike smashing crash. Enjoy.
1: Mate, I’ve been on such a good enduro ride!
Let’s forget taglines and pigeonholing for a minute; mountain biking is so good right now with all the new bikes and kit, so much so that (if you’re good enough) you can do pretty much anything and everything on one bike. The sport, where the non-serious rider/racer is involved, is really finding its identity in ‘enduro’ bikes and kit. This vid of Bas van Steenbergen proves just that.
2: Bernat Rips
Bernat Guardia is a phenomenal rider as you will see in this edit. The new Intense Tracer T275 he’s riding looks alright too!
3: Sublime scenic
The scenery and terrain in this aerial edit from New Zealand is quite staggering. How much does this make you want to be there? Or perhaps you’re watching from NZ?
4: How very French
French MTB edits are usually quite distinctive (to put it mildly), and this one is definitely in keeping with that theme…
5: Cam Cole is bouncing back
If you follow World Cup DH racing you’ll be well aware of Kiwi Cam Cole’s massive crash last year in Vallnord, Andorra. The Commencal rider is ready to bounce back for 2014 though, and there’s some good insight into the mindset of a top racer in this vid, top words from a level-headed rider.
Lorenzo’s big crash
Nope, not Norco’s Lorenzo Suding (who has a reputation as a full time pinner and part time crasher), but MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo. The Spaniard had a huge crash at the 2014 season opener, leaving not a lot of his bike intact…
‘Cos we love anything with two wheels and dirt involved…
Luke Smith upside down
If you have been a fan of Dirt since the early days then you’ll remember Luke Smith and his smooth moves at the trails, riding for DMR Bikes back in the day. He moved on into the world of moto and one life threatening injury later here he is sending it in his new home of New Zealand.
