Hardtail National Champs and DMR

Iain Woodley

Had a box of goodies turn up from Dmr for the HT Champs,  which of course was very nice of Damian to send us ! thank you very much,   but then Dmr have a rich history in the world of hardtails and have done rather well at the champs too.

Nathan Ball there,  the first Champ back in 07 on a very beat up Trailstar, also that year Alex Marshall came second on a Trailstar.

Husky from 08, that was carnage that year,  we had to work on most of the bikes,  Husky went on to chip his hip and ankle, i think it was a cracked fork crown, snapped chain, bent chainring,  lots of spokes,  the brake lever hanging out in the picture,  there is a video of the 08 welsh champs and you can see Husky bat a tree,  he did seeding chainless and went on to win the title for Dmr that year on an Exalt,  also in second place was Lee Hamer on a Dmr Sidekick,  you spot the theme there, 1st and 2nd 2 years running on Dmrs,  they got edged off the podium last year maybe a return this year,  the champs is still under the radar but it’s nice to know the big companies take an interest in us and what we are up to.
Next year will be our 5th birthday maybe we will try it on for a frame or two :)

A small box turned up with a lot of gear inside and about £80 of stickers,  along with V8′s a single speed kit a couple of t’shirts, 5 sets of grips and a very shiny chrome chain from YBN as ever the prize fund is looking healthy,  all we need is people to race and bag something !

Not long to go now,  just got to knock up the trophys get some beer and i think we are ready.
