2012 Dirt 100: Truvativ Holzfeller

590g might well be a pretty chunky weight for a set of pedals, but if you’re looking for a pair that are going to survive years of abuse then you might as well stop searching now.

We seem to get through a ridiculous amount of flat pedals, but we’ve never managed to knacker a set of these. The platform shrugs off even the biggest impacts without flinching, the generously sized bearings have proved to stand the test of time, and those evil steel pins are also some of the most resilient we’ve ever come across.

Even on the rare occasion when you do manage to snap one the remains always come out cleanly, and unsurprisingly for such a sharp pin they provide huge amounts of grip. True fit and forget pedals.

great pedals – BUT – does anybody know if theres a way to replace the bearings? mine are a couple years old and the bearings need replacing – how though? bit rubbish if you cant replace bearings in an £80 pedal

as below/above this “but if you’re looking for a pair that are going to survive years of abuse then you might as well stop searching now.” is BOLLOCKS. once the bearings go they jangle like jimmy savlille and are seemingly completely unservicable.

LOL?First do a little research before posting. With a set of pliers you can losen the nut with 4 holes easy.If not
make urself a custom tool.Switch on your braincells.
Replace bearings, clean bushing and viola, they run like new ones.I still use 9 year old truvativs with the 3rd set of bearings.
