2012 Dirt 100: Gore Ride On Cables

To the uninitiated a set of cables might not seem like a product that’s worthy of a Dirt 100 award, but those who have used a set of these particular ones will instantly know why they are here.

Other cables may well claim to be smooth and sealed, but nothing comes close to these. Take the time to fit them right and even after a year of riding in the mud they will still shift better than many brand new cables. They really are that good, and we’d much rather ride a bike with these and a cheap shifter and mech rather than some fancy stuff and a grotty cable.

So, on the surface they might seem like an expensive extravagance, but the reality is that they’re a true performance piece of kit and in the long run they work out to be a bargain. Go on, get some and see what you’ve been missing.

Hmmm I tried these on my MTB, lasted 9 months and then the inner lining begain peeling and jamming the cable. Switched to teflon coated cables, no problems since.
