2012 Dirt 100: Chris King Headset

Billy Thackray Billy Thackray

We struggle to imagine a day when a Chris King headset will be knocked out of the Dirt 100. They introduced the world to sealed bearing headsets way back in 1976 and ever since then they have shown how it really should be done. Every single part of their headsets is made in–house, including those all– important bearings, which have proved time after time that they can easily stand up to their ten year guarantee.

There are very few products out there that will last as long as one of these, and if it wasn’t for the ridiculous state of affairs when it comes to the constant changing of headset sizes we’d say a King headset is a headset for life. If ever there was a case of spending a bit more to save yourself money in the long run then here it is.

My steelset has gone past the 10 year mark and still going strong. I shall buy Chris King headsets forever now as all the others I have tried have died pretty fast. Worth every penny.

Every CK headset I have bought still works like it was new and I have never serviced any of them. The ultimate bike product.
