Windham World Cup - It’s going to be a tight one.

The World Cup has rolled into the USA and with only one race to go after this it’s pretty open for the overall. The Windham World Cup track has been straightened in some spots, been on a diet in others and fattened up on a few lumps too.

One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a tight race! with open sections on the piste and some big senders the riders will be at full tilt pretty much all the way down with not much to slow them down. The top section is pretty straight right out of the new start hut, and the pace is set for the rest of this short run.

Overall the riders seems pretty happy with this track, Danny Hart said it was always fast here and this year it looks even quicker. The last time we were over here the schedule was similar, MSA then Windham. Danny podiumed at both races last time round and has ticked the first one off with a 5th in Quebec this time round. Could Danny do it here?

So far this year no rider has won two events, Gwin won in PMB, then Gee took a win in Cairns in reply. Then the taps opened up for the young guns, Troy won at Fort William, then Josh landed a well deserved win in Leogang aboard his old 26″ bike. Last weekend it was Sam Hill’s turn to come back and take the win so this weekend is going to be interesting for those riders and the rest of the field.

Manon Carpenter is leading the way in the Women’s title race and if she nails a good result at Windham could extend her already solid lead of 140 points. Emmeline Ragot is behind her with Rachel still bringing the heat in 3rd place. It’s been an amazing season for Manon so far and she will be gunning for a win at World Champs too, a week after Meribel the race will be a perfect way to round off the season.

The Juniors though are the tightest of the lot! Just 4 points between Luca Shaw and Loris Vergier going into the last two races. If Loris can stay on his bike and keep it smooth he could definitely take the win but Luca Shaw is a man on form and for the young American this is his home race.
