World Cup round #6 Val d’Isère in France kicks off this week. Here’s all you need to know!

UCI World Cup round #6 sees a brand new track to the WC circuit, Val d’Isère in France.

Aaron Gwin could clinch the 2012 WC overall title at Val d’Isère, he’s 295 points clear of Greg Minnaar , which means he could theoretically win after qualifying.

Rachel Atherton is 30 points ahead of Emmeline Ragot, so this battle should go right down to the last round in Norway.

Uh oh, looks like a couple of afternoon showers.

We think this is pretty much the WC track.

Men’s WC overall standings so far.

Women’s WC overall standings so far.

  1. Andy Grant

that track has got Sam Hills name written all over it!

  2. Bert

  3. Pete

Sam Hill has got this one. Gwinny is due a crash anyway. He was lucky to get away with it in Windham.

I think Gwin has proven time and again that he can ride any type of track at warp speed. I think Hill has a ways to go before he is back up to speed. I reckon next year Sam will be back on it big time

    @ Bert

Val D daaarling, its where I spend everywhere wintaaa, yaah. best off piste skiing yaaa. my farther knows a mountain guide yaaah.

Basically mate, its one of the best known ski resorts in the world and very smart it is too, think Jack Wills hoodies by the shed load! It links into the Espace Killy and the resort of Tignes (free summer lift pass for mountain bikers). Its in the Savoie region of French Alps, think cheese, potato’s, lardons (bacon) and wine. Just down the valley is Les Arc/Les Plagne you might of heard of that for riding. I don’t ski there….. better ski-touring elsewhere….

I think you misunderstood. Andy Grant thinks Sam Hill will win the race, probably because Sam is the coolest raddest dude in MTB. Bert however does not believe that Sam Hill can win, probably because he expects Aaron Gwin to win, mostly because he is the fastest dude around and can win on any track, in any condition, chainless. Hope that clears it up.

That’s some funny stuff right there Eoin.
