UPDATE: Tickets for the World Premiere are now Sold out!

If you are able to host your own regional Premiere, email premieres@wontbackdownfilm.com

Sharing ‘a brew’ with Steve Peat over breakfast this morning he shared a few details about the exciting plans he has in store. This lad never slows down, on or off the bike.

2013-11-22 09.11.29-2

The film charting his long career as a professional mountain biker is about to be shown to the world for the first time. Clay Porter has taken on the job of documenting his hero’s rise to become the legend he is today; how he got there and what he’s been through. Peaty is arguably the most recognisable and certainly the most well liked downhill mountain biker of all time. His 20 year career has so many highlights that this promises to be an unmissable film.

Clay and John Lawlor are currently locked away in an Irish ‘editing suite’ putting the finishing touches to the edit ready for the World Premiere. Where else would this premiere take place but in Steve’s home town of Sheffield. He’s taking over the Pennine Lecture theatre of Sheffield Hallam University on Saturday 7th December to let 500 lucky viewers see the film for the first time. There will be Steve’s own ‘Wont back down’ beers for sale and a gallery of some of the amazing photos of his life.

Tickets go on sale on Monday 25th November through the boxoffice and the trailer for the film will go live the same day over on the website wontbackdownfilm.com. The US premiere of the film will be on Friday December 13th at the Rio theatre in Santacruz, California home of Santa Cruz bikes.

In January a worldwide movie tour kicks off and Steve reckons the film will be available to download on Itunes and buy on DVD sometime in february. So you’re going to have a wait just a while longer to see if if you can’t get to a premiere.

Just from our brief chat this morning it was clear to see just how excited Steve is about this project. He hasn’t seen the final edit yet himself and may well wait until the World premiere to do so just so he gets goose bumps along with all the other viewers.

This one’s not to be missed. Get booking as soon as you can as this is guaranteed to be a sell out.

“This lad never slow down, on or off the bike” – think you mean “slowed down”.

    1. JayBee63

I was thinking that too Reddy lol. I’m sure it’s a typo. This film is going to be awesome!

    2. Nick Hamilton

Thanks.. I meant Slows! Corrected now.

  2. anon

Always one. and Reddy, I think you actually meant ‘Slows’.
    He’s still alive.

  3. Eoin

If we are talking typos then “his heroes” probably should be “his hero’s” and “Peaty is a arguably” appears to have an extra a thrown in. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but there has been a huge amount of typos on the website, and fair few in the print mag recently (last 6 months say). It’s kinda jarring as I don’t ever remember noticing typos before, not sure if you got a new editor or spell checker recently.

  4. OliC

    LEGEND,
but that’s a bit of healthy looking breakfast to have in a caf’! ;-)

  5. gazxa

    Aslo ‘clay are John Lawlot”
    Sorry guys

  6. gazxa

My bad’ lawlor ‘ but you get my point :-)

  7. Big Al

Bit odd that he’s chosen Sheffield to premiere it in the UK. I would have thought London would be the obvious place?

    1. james

      Sheffield born & bred

    2. Billy B

Is that a cleverly disguised joke?

  8. woodsa

    Any other Uk venues?

  9. Rob

Why chose London for the premier of a mountain biking video. Why not chose a more ‘outdoors’ city where he was born and bred, still builds trails in the local woods, runs downhill comps, and has strong links with sheffield Hallam uni. Why not choose London indeed! That comment quite frankly just annoys the hell out of me.

As OliC said – LEGEND..! You can’t call yourself a race fan if you didn’t shed a tear when Peaty finally captured the rainbow jersey..!

  11. Matt Carey

Lovely little few seconds in that trailer of Steve wearing that black and orange Nike cycling outfit (was it the MBUK team kit?). Loved that gear.
