The London Bike Show this year took place at the ExCeL in Docklands from 13th to 16th February. Visitors to the the show were able to get their hands on the latest equipment, clothing and accessories from a wide range of exhibitors, including Trek, Specialized, Chris King Precision Components, Canyon, Cielo, Intense, Cane Creek, Marin and Niner.

Among the highlights were an awesome stunt display from the Animal WD-40 Action Sports Tour, featuring trials legend Martyn Ashton, and two of the world’s best jump riders from MTB and BMX – Zimbabwean-born dirt jumper Blake Samson and Welsh BMX star James Jones.

Standout bikes on display included the new Conti Tyres Saracen team bike, as well as the bike on which Rachel Atherton won her 2013 World Championship title, Canyon’s new Spectral 275 140 mm all-round trail bike, Fabien Barel’s Canyon Strive and the striking Banshee Darkside, plus a carbon mountain bike weighing just 7 kg from the Bromley Bike Co. There was also a 650b version of the Escarpe 275 from Vitus, the in-house brand at Chain Reaction Cycles.

Visitors to the show could also catch a glimpse of the world’s first 3D-printed complete bike – based on Empire’s innovative 6in-travel aluminium MX6-Evo, the UK-built titanium enduro prototype is a collaboration with additive manufacturing firm Renishaw. Although the version on display was purely for show, a rideable version has been built and is currently being tested.
