American brand Maxxis was founded in 1967 and has since become one of the world’s leading high-quality tyre companies, available in 170 countries and employing more than 25,000 people. The Maxxis mountain bike range now features products for cross country, downhill and all-mountain use, and there are also road racing, cyclocross, BMX and trials-specific models.

Featuring in its downhill range is the legendary High Roller with fast-rolling centre and aggressive side knobs. the standard, much-imitated Minion DHF, the Shorty, a mid-spike for loose or slightly muddy conditions, and the Wetscream, a mud-spike for the worst conditions. Top-of-the-line is the Minion DHR, specifically designed to meet the demands of UCI World Cup downhill races, with directional, ramped knob design and two-ply DH casings with butyl-protected sidewalls.

All Maxxis products are tested by the company’s roster of championship-winning riders from a variety of disciplines including Tyler McCaul, Aaron Chase, Brandon Semenuk, Thomas Genon, Adam Hauck, Ryan Berrecloth, Logan Peat, Nate Hills, Greg Watts, Amir Kabbani, Andi Wittmann and Dominik Raab.

Leading mountain bikes teams that use Maxxis tyres are World Cup downhill powerhouse Santa Cruz Syndicate, the Kona Factory Team, Team Luna Chix, Rocky Mountain and US gravity team KHS. Maxxis also sponsors US-based events including the Gravity East Series, the Maxxis Endurance series, the Trek Dirt Series and the Southern Classic Series.
